Who's Afraid of the Wolf? Pastoral Scene of the Gallant South: inspired by STRANGE FRUIT by Lewis Allan: Southern trees bear strange fruit/ Blood on the leaves, and blood at the roots./ Black bodies swinging, in the SOuthern breeze./ Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees./ Pastoral scene of the gallant South,/ The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth,/ Scent of magnolias sweet and fresh,/ Then the sudden smell of burning flesh!/ Here is a fruit, for the crows to pluck,/ For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck,/ For the sun to rot, for the tree to drop,/ Here is a strange and bitter crop! Men Falling Off the Moon (a dream) Front Steps: Faun, Jerry, Important Lady

Also on exhibit will be two photos by Toronto photographer, Paul Hoeffler of Billie Holiday and Duke Ellington. Hoffler is known for his photographs of famous Jazz Musicians and we are honoured to have his work on display. The garden of the Gallery will be open to those who wish to relax and wander. We only ask that they respect the plants and flowers therein and not pick them. Some plants are poisonous and are best left alone. Also in the garden as a musical treat, Janet Jephcott from Hudson.Que. will play her drums. This will be an interactive event and you may join in, as the spirit moves you. Some works will remain on view until Midsummer for The Vankleek Hill Home & Gardens Tour. To visit Three Owls Gallery after May 23rd, please telephone Susan Jephcott at 1.613.678.3049 to make an appointment. We look forward to meeting you.
