Landscapes
This is the area for photos of the area. Whether it's a picture of your house, a particularly picturesque sunset, or a pensive bovine, I'd love to post them here!

Flowers at McAlpine Grave Grave Grave
"While I guess McAlpine isn't technically in Vankleek Hill, it's close enough for me, and always a great place to drop by for antiquing or horseback riding. Oh yeah, and here's some old gravestones at Greenwood cemetary (I guess you can take the goth out of the city, but...) The last three pics are scenes from around the farm- my partner was born and raised in Vankleek Hill. I moved to the area from Ottawa the summer of /98, bringing the farm back up to three generations in residence. For quite some time, Sunday dinners boasted four generations. I love how friendly the area is, and the stunning sunsets, and how I can let me daughters roam free. The first photo just grabs me because of the lovely texture, but I'm not certain if the positioning of the horseshoes is lucky or not. Number two is a shot of some old twine on a fencepost. The third was taken sometime during the longest night of the year, when the snow and fog was so thick, the lanterns reminded us of something out of a Narnia novel. Winter Solstice at the Farm is a special and beautiful time."

"The house is situated on Cassburn Rd., it is mid-Victorian (1845-1867). We have been living there since 2000, and it is an on-going restoration project with lots more to do."

Flowers and Pumpkins Ons droomhuisje Vankleek Hill
"Some years ago my partner and me visited Vankleek hill during our stay with our family living in and around Alexandria. Since that first visit we fell in love with this charming village. Of course we took pictures and some of those I would like to contribute to this Vankleek hill website. These pictures were taken during the Indian summer in october, which explains the bright and beautiful colors. Next year's september we will come over to Canada again and won't skip Vankleek hill. Actually we have plans to move to Canada permantly and Vankleek hill is the kind of town we would like to settle down in. But of course, this all depends strongly on employment opportunities in this area (allthough commuting to Ottawa is a possibility). Anyway, I hope you will enjoy the pictures."
